NanoParse

✓ Verified owner

It lets agents pay per parse without an account or API key and returns structured Markdown with trust signals in one call.

NanoParse converts web pages into clean Markdown for AI agents and attaches Litmus signals about source authority, freshness, and citability.

  • AI agent developers
  • Retrieval and data pipelines
  • Teams that need source trust signals
  • Users of MCP-based tools

Features

  • JavaScript rendering — Headless Chromium executes JavaScript before converting the DOM to Markdown.
  • Litmus signals — Fifteen deterministic signals on authority, freshness, and citability.
  • Metadata extraction — OpenGraph, Twitter Cards, JSON-LD, favicon, language, and word count.
  • Pay-per-parse via x402 — Agents sign a $0.005 USDC micropayment on Base.
  • MCP server — Integrates with tools such as Claude Code and Cursor.

Pros

  • No account or API key required to use the API
  • Failed reads are never charged; blocked or invalid URLs are rejected before charging
  • Returns Markdown along with structured metadata in a single call
  • Provides a free tier and an MCP server for agent integration

Cons

  • Paid usage requires a self-custodied wallet holding USDC on Base
  • Pricing is per parse rather than a flat monthly plan
  • Uses an x402 micropayment flow that may require additional setup for some agents

Overview

NanoParse is a web-to-Markdown API designed for AI agents. An agent sends a URL to the fetch endpoint, and the service renders the page in a headless Chromium instance at the edge, executes JavaScript, waits for the network to idle, and isolates the article content. It returns clean Markdown along with metadata such as OpenGraph and Twitter Card data, schema.org JSON-LD, favicon, language, and word count.

Alongside the Markdown, NanoParse computes Litmus, described as 15 deterministic signals covering source authority, freshness, hedge-language density, syndication, paywall detection, and citability. The service states that Litmus uses no LLM call and adds no extra cost, giving agents a basis to decide whether to cite, verify, or skip a page.

Pricing is pay-per-parse. Each parse costs $0.005 in USDC on Base through the x402 payment protocol, with no account or API key required. Agents can sign payments from a self-custodied wallet, and free usage includes 10 parses per month with a signed wallet or three anonymous tries per network. NanoParse states that failed reads are never charged, that blocked or invalid URLs are rejected before charging, and that settlement occurs only after a page renders successfully.

NanoParse also provides an MCP server for integration with tools such as Claude Code and Cursor.
