Overview

SpriteGen is a browser-based AI sprite creator aimed at game developers. A user describes a character and an action, chooses a camera view and one of twelve built-in visual styles, and the tool generates an animated pixel-art sprite sheet. Generation is reported to take about a minute on average.

Each sheet contains 6, 8 or 12 evenly spaced frames and is exported as a transparent PNG that can be imported into engines such as Unity, Godot, GameMaker and Phaser. Additional export options include a GIF, separate frames in a ZIP, and an atlas with Aseprite and TexturePacker JSON files. A live preview shows the animation loop before download.

The generator is credit-based: four credits are used per sprite sheet, with a Starter plan at $16 per month (300 credits) and a Pro plan at $42 per month (800 credits), plus a one-time 300-credit pack at $19.90. New visitors can try generation for free without an account, and a free browser-based pixel-art editor is included for drawing or editing frames. Character consistency can be maintained using a reference image or by continuing from a finished sheet. Assets made with paid credits are excluded from the public gallery.
